Ramsey Shop Rite Bags for Hunger
ShopRite's "Partners in Caring" program helps collect food and raise awareness to address hunger in local communities.

Ramsey ShopRite recently participated in Inserra Supermarkets annual "Help Bag Hunger" food collection and awareness to address hunger in local communities as part of ShopRite’s “Partners in Caring” program. Cashiers at Inserra’s 22 ShopRite stores located throughout New Jersey and New York banded together to bag non-perishable groceries throughout this day-long event. Numerous local dignitaries and community volunteers also lent their support.
“As a family-owned grocer, the fight against hunger is an important cause where we can make a significant impact,” said Lawrence Inserra, Jr., president and CEO of Inserra Supermarkets. “Our associates are committed to ending hunger in our communities, and are long-time supporters of the ‘Help Bag Hunger’ event. Every item donated will make a significant difference in the number of community members we can help.”
The Help Bag Hunger event is held every September in conjunction with National Hunger Action Month, when a nationwide network of food banks unites to urge individuals to take action in their communities. Since the inception of ShopRite’s Partners in Caring program in 1999, more than $29 million has been donated to 1,700 hunger relief agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
