Rep. Gottheimer To Call For Federal Action On Carjackings 'Surge'

ALLENDALE, NJ — In response to recent carjackings and car thefts in the local community, Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-5) will address federal steps to combat the issue in a press conference at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Allendale Police Department.

Just last week in Old Tappan, a stolen vehicle and two attempted car thefts were reported over a 15-hour time period.

Statewide, a total of 14,320 vehicles were stolen last year, a 22% increase from 2020, NJ.com reported.
