Morris County Boy Dies From Flu, Community Rallies To Support Family

The two-year-old boy's passing comes as the NJ Department of Health announced the state's first pediatric flu death.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Community members are offering condolences and donations to the family of a toddler who died this week due to flu complications.

Isaias Castillo IV, 2, from Randolph, died in Morristown Medical Center on Tuesday, according to his obituary.

The Castillo family is now gaining support for his funeral costs through a GoFundMe online fundraiser.

“There are no words that can ease the pain of losing a child, and during this time of deep grief, the family is navigating overwhelming emotional and practical challenges," the fundraiser reads.

Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, followed by interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.

“His life was a gift to us that will live in our hearts. Baby Isaias loved playing with his dinosaurs and was the light of every room he was in,” his obituary reads. “He touched every single one of our hearts with his beautiful smile and unique personality. We will cherish the unconditional love he gave us.”
