Obituary: Alan Hooey Of Randolph

RANDOLPH, NJ — Alan Hooey, 70, of Randolph died Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Morristown Medical Center.
Hooey was born Jan. 22, 1950, to his late parents, Arnold and Maddlin Hooey, according to his obituary from William J. Leber Funeral Home in Chester. He grew up in Ledgewood, graduated from Roxbury High School and spent the last 30 years of his life living in Randolph.
A retiree from Cablevision, Hooey loved music and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed the outdoors and often went camping at Otter Lake, Pennsylvania, and Assateague State Park in Maryland.

His other hobbies included remote-control airplanes and spending time at the shooting range, according to the funeral home.
Hooey is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon (née Robinson) Hooey, his brother Dale and his wife Joyce, his father-in-law, four loving sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and his nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Hooey's friends and family was held Sunday, Feb. 16, at William J. Leber Funeral Home in Chester. A funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 17, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Chester.
Hooey was interred at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester. Donations can be made to the ASPCA or the Community Presbyterian Church.
