Makers Day Offers Hands-On Fun At Shrewsbury Eastern Branch
Inspiration, inventiveness are on the agenda at the Eastern Branch, Monmouth County Library, Makers Day event Saturday.
SHREWSBURY, NJ — Become a part of New Jersey Makers Day at Monmouth County Library's Eastern Branch on Saturday, March 25, with creative experiences for "kids ages 3 to 103," the library says.
The program will run from noon to 4 p.m. Everything is free.
Activities include Talewise interactive music and movement; an author visit and drawing demonstration; hands-on science activities and make-and-takes; and creative STEM-based challenges.

There will also be activities in robotics, aquaponics, traditional Indian folk art, a screen printing demo and more.

New Jersey Makers Day is annual statewide event held at over 250 libraries, museums, schools, "makerspaces" and businesses across New Jersey.
The first Makers Day was in 2015, organized by several librarians. New Jersey Makers Day inspires libraries to showcase STEM activities and a "maker" culture to spark life-long learning.
In September 2016, New Jersey Makers Day was incorporated as a nonprofit organization, with financial support from charitable donations.
Monmouth County Library is a system of 13 branches and 12 member libraries within Monmouth County.
Library Headquarters is located in Manalapan and branches are located in Allentown, Atlantic Highlands, Colts Neck, Hazlet, Holmdel, Howell, Marlboro, Ocean Township, Oceanport, Shrewsbury, Wall and West Long Branch.
