A beloved Red Bank bagel shop will be closed for an undisclosed amount of time in preparation for a reopening, complete with new ownership.

RED BANK, NJ - A beloved Red Bank bagel shop will be closed for an undisclosed amount of time in preparation for a reopening, complete with new ownership.

Bagel Oven, located at 72 Monmouth Street, closed for repairs on Monday and will remain closed for a short time,” its owners said in a May 15 Facebook post.

“Watch this space for updates on reopening,” the post added.

The bagel nook, which opened in 1978, is set to reopen under new ownership after co-founder Dean Ross, 72, retires, Red Bank Green initially reported. Ross’ daughter, Brittany, will also be stepping away from the shop as she prepares for the arrival of her first child, the outlet reported.
