Looks like we're in for some stormy weather today, Red Bank-Shrewsbury area folks. And there's more than that we're thinking you probably should know. So, we've made you a little list you'll find useful.
In fact, we'll be publishing this new column every day. Here's what's happening in the area for Tuesday:
The weather …
According to the National Weather Service, after the rain kicked in Monday afternoon, it will continue through Tuesday night. We're likely in for some thunderstorms in the afternoon, too, along with the possibility of heavy rain. Temperatures will peak at about 85 degrees, with winds from 6 to 9 miles per hour. After midnight it's supposed to clear.
Activities …
They're down by the river at Maple Cove with the River Rangers all week. Check it out. Maroon and White basketball camp is on, too.
Foodie talk …
Tuesdays are lobster nights at Boondocks Fishery. The meal includes two lobsters, corn and potatoes for $24.95.
They also have two-fer Tuesdays at Sugarush. Check in to see what's on the menu.
There are some good happy hour deals at Tommy's Coal Fired Pizza, too.
And Red Bank Flavour has a list of specials to check out right here.
Coming up …
We'll be looking back at some prices of the 1940s today in a special "for fun" feature. And, we'll be around town checking out our surprise choice for one of those most simple, yet most beloved businesses in town. Feel free to send suggestions week to week.
One more thing …
We're posting a feature photo of the day every day with this column and we'd like you to make up a caption for it. Should be fun … so, start with today's and let's hear it!
And, who's in the Damn Yankees cast, darn it?
See you around the towns …
