Town Wide Yard Sale a Go; $2 Lamps and Cassette Players for All

Despite predictions, rain holds out for the annual Red Bank yard sale Saturday.

Forecasts called for 80 percent chance of rain in the Red Bank area Saturday, threatening the planned town wide yard sale and the more than 100 participants scattered all over the borough. Little did the rain know, however, that the Red Bank yard sale stops for no drop!

Neighborhoods all over the borough were crowded with tarp-covered lawns and plenty of shoppers looking to score a bargain or two on everything from used clothing to Christmas ornaments, home goods and, for just this one time only, and we mean it, just this one time, really, family heirloms for the reasonable price of 50 cents.

Though it's tough to say how many homeowners listened to the incorrect forecast and bailed on the yard sale, plenty folks were out making a go of it despite the prediction, clearing out garages and storage spaces of any and everything.
