Warming Center For Men In Red Bank Can Help In Freezing Temps
Red Bank police say meal locations with a check-in to the Warming Center on Shrewsbury Avenue will be available as cold arrives.
RED BANK, NJ — During Code Blue periods, when temperatures dip below freezing, help can be found in the borough, police remind residents.
This weekend, forecasts are calling for freezing temperatures, with temperatures dipping the lowest Friday night through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Those without a permanent home can check-in and have dinner Wednesdays through Saturdays at JBJ Soul Kitchen from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

There, you can not only have a meal but check in to the Warming Center, located adjacent to Pilgrim Baptist Church at the Pilgrim Baptist Church Annex at 166 Shrewsbury Ave.
On Sundays and Mondays, the meal and check-in is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Red Bank. On Tuesdays, the meal is at the Warming Center, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

First Baptist Church is at 84 Maple Ave. and JBJ Soul Kitchen at 207 Monmouth St.
The Warming Center has 18 beds for men and services to help with laundry, showers and sleeping areas.
Volunteers at the Warming Center have said that about a third of the men using its services are working, but housing is so expensive the men can not afford a permanent place to live. They also need to live near their jobs since they do not have cars. Guests come to the back entrance of the annex to be admitted.
