Intruders Break Into Bergen County Home, Take Key Fobs, Steal BMWs While Homeowners Sleep
While residents of a Glen Rock house slept, intruders broke in, took car keys, then took 2 BMWs, police said. One car was recovered.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — Intruders broke into Glen Rock home last week and stole the car keys, then took two BMWs, police said.
The Glen Rock police responded to Fairmount Avenue last Thursday at 7:14 a.m., they said.
They found that while the residents were sleeping, intruders entered the home through an unlocked rear window and took the key fobs for the residents' vehicles. They also took a man's wallet with five credit cards.

They then took a 2022 and a 2023 BMW from the driveway, police said.
Just after 2 p.m., the 2023 BMW was found by the Trenton Police Department, police said. The vehicle’s license plates had been changed and it was extensively damaged, police said.

Detectives are investigating.
Two Other Stolen Cars Recovered
Two cars that were stolen from Glen Rock in previous weeks were found this month.
On Oct. 7, a 2021 Range Rover, stolen from the driveway of a Heathcote Road residence on Sept. 30, was recovered by the Belleville Police Department.
The vehicle was parked on a street in that town. It had some damage, police said.
On Oct. 9, a 2015 VW Passat, stolen from a Norwood Avenue home on Oct. 3, was recovered by officers from the New York City Police Department’s 46th Precinct in the Bronx. Three arrests have been made in connection with that theft, police say.
Detectives in Glen Rock and the Bronx are still investigating. No more information has been released.
From Oct. 7-13, members of the Glen Rock Police Department handled 529 calls for service, police said.
