Tatte Bakery and Café, a popular bakery chain, plans to open its 45th store Monday morning at 7 a.m. in Ridgewood. It's their first store in the Garden State. Tatte started in 2007, when Israeli immigrant Tzurit Or began baking family recipes in her kitchen. She sold the imaginative pastries at a

Los Bandoleros tacos, a Mexican restaurant with a "BBQ twist," opened Thursday at the Village Green Shopping Center in East Brunswick. Owner and Executive Chef David Herrera, an East Brunswick native, is cooking up traditional bites and unique flavor combinations. The menu includes tacos, quesadillas, empanadas, elote (fire-roasted street corn), cauliflower bites, and more. Find out more here.
Sweet Jeans Kitchen And Espresso Bar
Sweet Jeans Kitchen And Espresso Bar held its grand opening in Newark last week. The specialty café was founded by Chopped contestant and Newark native Michele Vaccari Harriott and business partner Victor Soldano. According to a Patch story, it's the first retail business to join Audible's Business Attraction Program and is also part of a City of Newark initiative to spur investment. Among the unique items touted on their social media account are a baked chicken sandwiches, pastries, and "Our matcha latte with a dehydrated clementine- earthy-sweet with light citrus notes." Mauka Indian Cuisine
Mauka Indian Cuisine held its soft opening on April 29. The Indian restaurant is located near the border between Bridgewater and Branchburg. They serve up Tandoori sizzlers, entrees featuring chicken, lamb, goat and seafood, soups, salads, and vegetarian and vegan entrees. They recently tourted their butter chicken and naan. Morgan Steakhouse And Omakase Sushi Bar
A local veterinarian partnered with an experienced Bergen and Hudson County restaurateur to open Morgan Steakhouse And Omakase Sushi Bar in Westwood on Thursday. The team behind the eatery describes it as a "dual-concept restaurant under one roof, offering two distinct dining experiences; a refined BYOB steakhouse and sushi experience." During lunch, the eatery will also offer another concept: "Flame & Fin by Morgan," a casual omakase sushi bar and burger restaurant.
