American Dream's Free Parking Is Coming To An End
It's not clear how much the mall will charge or when the rates will go into effect.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - While there is currently no charge to park at American Dream, that is going to change, according to the mall.
Visitors will eventually have to pay to park in one of the 33,000 spots at the Meadowlands mega-mall, however it's not clear when the rates will go into effect or how much it will cost.
On Thursday morning, Dana McHugh, an American Dream spokeswoman, said they'll be "sharing up-to-date information about parking rates prior to charging so people will be very clear on what we're charging and when it will go into effect."

Employees will park in a separate lot and will not be charged for parking, the mall said.
A few days before its Oct. 25 grand opening, American Dream revealed how much it'll cost to park at the mall. It was supposed to range from $3 for 30 minutes to 3 hours all the way up to $24 for 8 hours or more.

But shortly after the opening, fees were waived and on the mall's website, under the topic of parking, a box on the page simply says: "Parking is Free."

At the time, a spokesman said the rates were not being enforced, outside of game days and event days, and parking has been free since the grand opening.
According to the website, during games, concerts and other special events at MetLife Stadium, event parking rates are in effect at American Dream's lot, which are $30 without a prepaid Giants parking pass and $45 without a prepaid Jets pass. The rates will be charged five hours prior to the game's start until one hour after kick-off.
There is also a valet fee of $10 and overnight parking is prohibited.
American Dream, the massive $5 billion shopping and entertainment venue, opened in October 2019.
For now, Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, IT'SUGAR candy store, Big SNOW indoor ski park and an NHL-size ice rink are open to the public.
DreamWorks Water Park, an indoor water park that will include the world's largest indoor water coaster, a free fall slide with a 70-foot drop, a lazy river and a 1.5-acre wave pool was supposed to open Nov. 27, but the mall recently announced it would be delayed until further notice.
Other attractions, shopping and dining will follow over the next several months.
