School Board Soliciting Opinions for Strategic Three-Year Plan

The Ridgewood Board of Education has announced that it will engage in a community planning process to help structure the district's strategic planning for the next three years. As part of that process, the Board is seeking residents willing to engage in a one-session meeting in mid-January, joining district staff members, village administrators, civic group members and other community representatives.

Educational consultants Sousa & Stern will be facilitating the one-time Community Planning session on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Education Center, 49 Cottage Place, Floor 3, from 5-9 p.m. The evening will allow for a representative cross-section of stakeholders to share their insights and ideas for the future of the school district. Through a series of small and large group activities, participants will: clarify and commit to the district's mission statement; define the foundational beliefs of the district; develop goals that support the mission; and brainstorm strategies that will lead to the achievement of those goals.

The results from the evening will be turned over to the Board of Education and the superintendent for development and implementation of action plans.
