Car Flips on Rt. 17, Police Say Medical Issue Likely Cause
One occupant taken to Hackensack University Medical Center at around 2 p.m. Wednesday
Police say a medical emergency led to a driver veering off the road and flipping the vehicle on Route 17 Wednesday afternoon.
According to Ridgewood Police Captain Jacqueline Luthcke, the late-model BMW was traveling north on 17 when it suddenly veered off the roadway and flipped over once. The vehicle came to a stop on the right side of the highway embankment near Paramus Road.
The call was reported at 1:55 p.m. The occupant, Lutchke said, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center complaining of general pain.
