Bergen County Child Sexually Assaulted By Virginia Man: Prosecutor
A child was sexually assaulted in Bergen County by a Virginia man last year, prosecutors said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ —A 52-year-old Virginia man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a child under 16 in Bergen County last year, prosecutors said.
Jose G. Sanchez of Berryville, Va., was charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Thursday.
Prosecutors say that on Friday, March 21, the Allendale Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit about the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile that had occurred in the past in Allendale.

An investigation determined that Sanchez sexually assaulted and endangered the juvenile last November.
This past Monday, Sanchez was charged with the two crimes. On Wednesday, detectives from Bergen County and Allendale, alongside members of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, found and arrested Sanchez. He was taken to the Clark County, Virginia jail, to await extradition to Bergen County.
