Bergen Man Charged In Fatal Hackensack Shooting

A 20-year-old Hackensack man faces charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the city over the weekend.

HACKENSACK, NJ - A 20-year-old Hackensack man faces charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the city over the weekend.

Jairo Echeverry was arrested Monday in Brooklyn, NY and charged with murder, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and possession of a handgun without a permit, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities say Echeverry shot and killed 22-year-old Christian Pacas early Sunday morning outside of a home located at 66 Grove Street.

Brian Guerrero, 27, of Paramus, was arrested with Echeverry and faces a charge of hindering apprehension, the prosecutor's office said. Both men are awaiting extradition from New York.
