This Saturday, the Ridgewood YMCA is hosting a blood drive, the Y announced on Patch’s announcements page. The Community Blood Services drive is being organized by a local Girl Scout.
According to a NorthJersey.com report, RHS junior Molly Duggan is organizing the event as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award as a way to raise awareness about he need for blood transfusions for premature babies. Duggan herself is a triplet who was born 12-weeks premature, the report said.
The drive is happening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ridgewood YMCA Saturday. Get more information or schedule an appointment at 201-251-3703.
