Bottle King Shoplifter, Public Disturbance: Glen Rock Blotter

Glen Rock police responded to 182 incidents between Nov. 4. and Nov. 10.

GLEN ROCK, NJ - Glen Rock police responded to 182 incidents between Nov. 4. and Nov. 10, including reports of fraudulent bank transactions, a shoplifter at Bottle King and a dispute in a parking lot.

11-04-2019 - Property Damage

5:18 PM – A Thornbury Avenue resident reported that sometime between October 31st and November 3rd damage was done to a screen leading to a breezeway between the garage and the house. No entry appeared to have been gained and nothing was reported missing.

11-05-2019 - Unauthorized Credit Card Charges

9:54 AM – A Glen Rock man reported finding an unauthorized transaction on his American Express account. The man was able to trace the transaction to a New York City address and has had the American Express account in question frozen. The detective bureau is currently reviewing the transaction.

11-05-2019 - Shoplifting

12:00 PM – Following an investigation into the November 2nd shoplifting of $54.99 worth of alcohol from Bottle King on Prospect Street, D/Sgt. James Calaski arrested a 60-year-old Nutley man. The man, who surrendered at Police HQ, was charged with one count of shoplifting and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court on November 19th.

11-08-2019 - Unauthorized Bank Transactions

12:44 PM – A Glen Rock woman reported discovering two unauthorized transactions on her checking account. The bank was able to reverse both transactions and are reviewing their internal records. The complainant had been the victim of identity theft in 2018 following a burglary to her motor vehicle which had occurred in another state, during which numerous documents with her personal information were stolen. The detective bureau is currently reviewing both cases to see if they are related.

11-09-2019 - Public Disturbance

1:42 AM – Patrols were dispatched to a 9-1-1 report of a disturbance taking place in a commercial parking lot at Maple Avenue and Harristown Road. Upon arrival they separated four individuals from Union City, Carteret, Ridgefield and Glen Rock. Investigation determined that a 26-year-old Ridgefield woman had become involved in a verbal dispute with a highly intoxicated 26-year-old Glen Rock man which had begun in Hackensack and ended in Glen Rock. Officers found no evidence that any act of violence had occurred. The matter was resolved when the woman agreed to leave the area for the night.
