Teen Girl Hit By Bus, Airlifted To NJ Hospital Wednesday (UPDATED)
A girl was taken to the hospital by helicopter after being hit by a bus in Demarest Wednesday morning, an official said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 14-year-old girl in Demarest was hit by a bus Wednesday morning and airlifted to a local hospital, an official said.
Around 8:45 a.m., Demarest police responded to the intersection of Anderson Avenue and County Road on a report of a bus that had hit a child pedestrian, said Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Deputy Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer.
The child had serious injuries and was taken via a medivac helicopter to an area hospital, Angermeyer said.

Detectives from the prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit, along with the Bergen County Fatal Accident Task Force, responded to investigate with police.
The driver of the bus remained at the scene and was cooperating, Angermeyer said.

The bus was operated by First Student, Inc., he said.
"Preliminary investigation suggests no criminality in this traffic incident," Angermeyer said.
No other information is available at this time as the investigation continues, he said.
