Classics Converging on Downtown Ridgewood for Annual Car Show

Hundreds of cars expected to line the streets of central business district from 6 to 9 p.m.

Hundreds of cars, spanning the range of automobile history, will park along the downtown streets Friday night for the 30th annual car show sponsored by the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce.

According to chamber executive director Joan Groome, the event typically draws around 250 cars, "everything from Model-T's to brand new ones," and last year registered over 300.

And about ten times the pedestrians turn out to support adjacent businesses and check out the rides in one of the chamber's signature annual events.

For those with a hot set of wheels who haven't yet signed up, last-minute registration will begin at 5 p.m. for a $20 fee.

Part of East Ridgewood Avenue as well as the perimeter of Van Neste Square, will be closed while the show runs from 6 to 9 p.m.
