Classmates Mourn Ridgewood High School Grad Killed In North Carolina

Classmates of a Ridgewood High School graduate who was killed in North Carolina last month shared memories. Services are Saturday.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Former classmates at Ridgewood High School mourned a fellow graduate and hair salon owner who was killed in North Carolina last month.

Edward "Eddy" Sansone Jr., Ridgewood class of 1978, was killed in a suspected domestic violence assault in Charlotte, N.C. early on the morning of Dec. 22, according to officials. Daniel Sansone, 29, was charged with murder.

Friends announced on a classmates page that local services will be held in Ridgewood on Saturday morning.

"I went to the third grade dance with Eddy," remembered one woman. "I remember feeling so shy and awkward. I barely let him hold my hand to dance with me, lol. he was a sweet boy and a good man."

"I was just thinking of him recently," wrote a man on the page. "And yes, Eddie was a good one. Prayers for his family and those close to him."

His obituary said he had owned hair salons in New Jersey and Charlotte.
