Consumer Reports Names Valley Among Top Hospitals for Heart Surgery

Hospital in Ridgewood is one of the Top 15 in the country.

The following was released to Patch by Valley Hospital.

The Valley Hospital is among the top 15 hospitals in the country for heart surgery according to Consumer Reports hospital ratings released last month. The hospital ratings are included in the June 2014 issue of Consumer Reports.

The ratings of 400 hospitals across the U.S. are based on data from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) and address two common heart surgeries — coronary artery bypass and aortic valve replacement.

Hospitals were rated based on patient outcomes, including survival and complication rates.  Valley was the only hospital in New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area to receive “above average” ratings (the highest possible) in both of those areas.
