Cops: Ridgewood Man Punches Hole in Police Headquarters After Complaining of Ticket

The 22-year-old was arrested after police say he "became very angry" and struck a wall.

A Ridgewood man who walked into police headquarters angry over summonses got more than just a ticket after police say he punched a hole in the wall.

Matthew Boucher-Kerns, 22, walked into police headquarters Monday afternoon ”to complain about receiving motor vehicle [summonses] earlier in the day,” according to Police Chief John Ward.

But Boucher-Kerns ”became very angry and while he walked out of headquarters struck a wall near the elevator causing a hole in the wall.”

Boucher-Kerns was later arrested and charged with criminal mischief. He was released pending an appearance in Ridgewood Municipal Court.
