EMS Drill Planned Saturday At Glen Rock Train Station

GLEN ROCK, NJ - New Jersey Transit will perform an emergency services drill at the Main Line train station on Saturday, according to authorities.

Starting at 8 a.m., first responders will conduct a large-scale drill that will simulate a mass casualty incident, NJ Transit said.

The four-hour exercise will be contained to a train parked in the station and the parking lot, according to NJ Transit.

Saturday’s training will involve several train cars that will be parked in the station and include agents from New Jersey Transit, as well as police, fire and ambulance corps members from Glen Rock and other nearby towns, police said.

The station's parking lot will be closed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and all parked vehicles must be removed by 2 a.m., Glen Rock police said.

Rock Road will remain open during the drill, however the eastbound platform at Glen Rock Main Line will be closed.

While the drill is underway, train service will run on one set of tracks and trains will be running with extra caution due to the emergency services personnel nearby.

Customers traveling to Hoboken will utilize the westbound platform for eastbound trains from 6 a.m.-12 p.m. Customers boarding at Glen Rock Main Line Station can purchase a ticket on the train without the $5 surcharge during this time.
