WEATHER UPDATE: 'Black Ice' Will Cover New Jersey Roads Monday Morning
National Weather Service issues alert: Do not drive. Temperatures to fall below freezing. New Jersey roads are "a skating rink," cops say.
Prepare yourself for a wet, freezing, slick end to the holiday weekend.
A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain soaked the region on Sunday morning, and much of that rain and wetness will likely freeze on New Jersey roads on Monday.
The National Weather Service issued an alert for all of New Jersey, saying temperatures will fall below freezing Sunday night and Monday. Any water still on the roads will refreeze, creating icy conditions once again.

The ”black ice” will come after an inch or more of freezing rain fell on New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, closing bridges, causing speed restrictions and making things generally a mess for motorists.
The Outerbridge Crossing, the Bayonne Bridge and the Goethals Bridge connecting Staten Island and New Jersey, and the Walt Whitman, Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross bridges connecting Pennsylvania and New Jersey were all closed Sunday morning because of ice.
