Gardens Selected as Theme of 2013 Borough Calendar

Submit your paintings or photographs for submission.

The following was posted on the Borough website.

Garden Lovers – whether you are an artist or photographer, you can capture a beautiful moment in town when all is in abundant bloom.

Use your imagination to have your garden grow in a privileged place in The Gallery in the Glen Rock Library. The gardens will be the focus of the 2013 town calendar.

The Gallery Committee of the Glen Rock Public Library will host “The Gardens of Glen Rock” exhibition, scheduled for January, 2013.

Interested artists and photographers are asked to submit no more than two applications outlining the potential entries by April 30, 2012 to friends.glenrocklibrary@yahoo.com. Applicants must be 21 years or older and live in town.

The gardens must be located in Glen Rock. If you don’t have your own garden, then visit one in your neighborhood or the Arboretum on Doremus Avenue. All paintings and photographs must be matted, framed and ready for hanging. The minimum size for photographs [without matting] is 8” x 10”. Decisions for artwork to be exhibited will by made by The Gallery Committee. Artists will be notified by October 2012, in writing if they are accepted, for the January 2013 exhibition. Other specifics will follow.

The Gallery is underwritten by the Friends of the Library and the Glen Rock Arts Council. A portion of the proceeds from artwork sold benefits the Children’s programs underwritten by the Friends. Artists interested in exhibiting in The Gallery for a solo exhibition can obtain information by calling 201.670.1035
