Glen Rock Passes Amendment to Salary Fixing Ordinance

Codifies existing agreements, Borough Admin says

The Glen Rock Mayor and Council did a bit of house cleaning at the final council meeting of 2011.

In addition to passing several resolutions transfering funds and removing line items for grant listings the borough will not be eligible for, the mayor and council passed an ordinance fixing various wages of borough workers.

According to Borough Administrator Lenora Benjamin, the amendment to Ordinance No. 1648 is little more than codifying several existing payment structures in effect for years.

The ordinance, which passed unanimously, decrees that car allowances are set at a maximum of $4,000 for the borough administrator; $3,000 for the code official; $900 for the plumbing, electrical and fire subcode official; and $600 for the building inspector.

Additionally, the ordinance stipulates that public works, sanitation, police and administrative personnel hired prior to 1977 are eligible for longevity pay, provided at a rate of 2 percent per every four years of service, capped at a total of 12 percent.
