UPDATE: Glen Rock, Ridgewood Public Schools to Follow Early Dismissal Schedule Monday As County is Placed Under Blizzard Watch
The alert says the state should expect "heaving snow and blowing snow with blizzard conditions" and 1 to 2 feet of snow accumulation.

Ridgewood and Glen Rock Public Schools will have an early dismissal Monday as Bergen County has been placed under a Blizzard Watch until Tuesday.
The schedule for Ridgewood schools is as follows:
- RED Program: 9-11 a.m.
- Kindergarten AM Classes: 8:45 - 11:20 a.m.
- Kindergarten PM Classes: canceled
- Grades 1-5: 8:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
- Grades 6-8: 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
- Grades 9-12: 7:47 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Cafeterias will not operate and lunches will not be provided during the early dismissal schedule. All afterschool activities and meetings are also canceled.

The Glen Rock schedule is as follows:
- GRHS and GRMS will dismiss at 12:26 p.m.
- Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:33 p.m.
- Community School - The After Care program is cancelled and parents are asked to pick up their children at 12:33 p.m. from the school.
- Afternoon Tots Preschool classes are cancelled.
All after school and evening activities, athletics and the After Care Program are also cancelled. The BOE meeting is cancelled. Professional Development for staff will continue as scheduled but will be reevaluated early morning.

The Glen Rock and Ridgewood Police Departments also sent out “urgent” alerts to residents Sunday warning of a Blizzard Watch in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening as the National Weather Service says a “potentially historic winter storm [is scheduled] to impact the area from late Monday into Tuesday.”
According to the alert, the state should expect “heavy snow and blowing snow with blizzard conditions likely” and 1 to 2 feet of snow accumulations.
The “heaviest snow and strongest winds will occur overnight Monday into Tuesday,” causing “extremely dangerous travel.”
The alert also warns of “whiteout conditions,” impassable secondary and tertiary roads, and strong winds that can potentially bring down power lines and tree limbs.
