Glen Rock Robbery Suspect Scheduled to Appear in Newark Federal Court Friday

Michelle C. Cantatore, 51, is charged by complaint with one count of bank robbery in connection with the Glen Rock robbery.

The woman accused of going on a robbery spree in Connecticut and New Jersey is scheduled to appear in Newark Federal Court Friday afternoon.

Michelle C. Cantatore, 51, of White Plains, NY, is charged by complaint with one count of bank robbery in connection with the robbery of the Glen Rock Savings Bank on Feb. 18, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman said.

According to the complaint, Cantatore robbed the bank while “threatening to shoot and kill the bank employees” with what later turned out to be a paintball gun.

When she was unsatisfied with how much money she received from the bank drawer, Fishman said Cantatore made bank employees enter the vault and give her more money.

According to Cliffview Pilot, Cantatore made away with at least $112,000, but no more than $120,000 during the Glen Rock holdup. She was also connected to two robberies in Connecticut on Jan. 30 and Feb. 24.

Cantatore was arrested by FBI agents at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City Thursday.

According to Fishman, the bank robbery charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
