Glen Rock School District Offers Parents Best Value in NJ, Study Finds

According to the study, Glen Rock came in at number two for its high HSPA scores and 99 percent graduation rate.

A new study found that the Glen Rock School District offers parents one of the best values in New Jersey.

Consumer advocacy site NerdWallet compiled the list of 266 school disctrics to show “there are many affordable cities with strong schools, and many places where better schools offset the premium of living [in New Jersey].”

According to the study, Glen Rock came in at number two for its high HSPA scores and 99 percent graduation rate. Opportunities for Glen Rock students include a newspaper at Glen Rock Middle School, “a robotics club that earned first place in the First Lego League” and several state championships in football and girls soccer.

“By balancing school quality ratings with cost-of-living data, NerdWallet has found the school districts where families will get the most bang for their buck in New Jersey,” according to NerdWallet’s website.

The top five school districts were Haddonfield, Glen Rock, Bernards, Verona, Pequannock, while the bottom five were Hoboken, Roselle, Plainfield, Trenton and Asbury Park. Nearby Ridgewood came in at number 27.
