GR Leaf Pickup Continues, X-Mas Tree Pickup to Begin
Council liaison Mary Jane Surago updates public on DPW work

With the holidays now in the rearview mirror and the new year inches away, the Glen Rock DPW is working to clear the last pockets of leaf piles, according to DPW liaison Councilwoman Mary Jane Surago.
Surago told Patch the crews will continue to grab leaves into the new year, provided snowy weather doesn't hamper efforts.
Beyond leaf clearing, Surago also said Christmas tree pickups will begin on Jan. 3 and she's asking that residents be mindful to remove any plastic or other materials wrapped around the tree when they're put out on the curb.

An added perk, she noted, the Public Works department hauled away cardboard boxes in addition to the load of regular paper products.
Given the volume of shopping boxes that accumulate during the holidays, "I think residents are really happy about that," she said.
