The Ridgewood Baseball and Softball Association has plans to add turf to the infield of the Habernickel baseball field. According to Ridgewood Parks and Recreation Director Tim Cronin, there are no plans to add turf to other sections of the Habernickel property. Planning is still in the early stages. The RBSA has not brought the proposal to the Fields Committee or PRC Board yet. The costs would be entirely funded by the organization. The RBSA also recently increased the basepths at Somerville's Elementary School field from 70 feet to 90 feet. The larger size will accommodate for JV baseball games. RBSA President Jim Albano did not return a request for comment.
