Hawthorne Woman Charged with DWI Following Alleged Hit-and-Run
Ridgewood police say she struck a parked car on Garfield Place and fled the scene.

Ridgewood police claim a Hawthorne woman was drunk when she fled the scene of an auto accident Saturday night.
According to Cpt. Jacqueline Luthcke, at approximately 11 p.m. a Garfield Place resident reported that an Acura had backed into a parked car and immediately took off. Minutes later, Lt. Glenn Ender pulled over a vehicle fitting that description on East Ridgewood Avenue and Broad Street. Ender believed the driver, identified as 38-year-old Laura Wallace, was drunk at the time.
Wallace was charged with DWI, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusal to submit to testing. Wallace faces an upcoming date at Ridgewood Municipal Court.
