Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Bergen County, Gusts Expected

Winds in Bergen County may gust high enough to blow around loose objects and cause power outages, the NWS says. See when the advisory ends.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory, special weather statement, and Hazardous Weather Outlook for Bergen County and other counties in the New York City area.

The NWS said that snow squalls were moving across North Jersey on Thursday morning.

In addition, they issued a wind advisory that lasts until 10 p.m. Gusts up to 50 miles per hour are possible, the NWS said.

They said:"West winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

They also predict a 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before noon. After that, no precipitation is expected until next Monday.
