The “historic” snowstorm was anything but historic - at least as of Tuesday morning.
Forecasters predicted Ridgewood would see one to two feet of snow accumulations but according to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations in the Village were at a mere 3.5 inches as of 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Gary Szatkowski issued an apology via twitter saying, “My deepest apologies to many key decision makers and so many members of the general public.”

“You made a lot of tough decisions expecting us to get it right, and we didn’t,” read another tweet. “Once again, I’m sorry.”
The apology comes after Governor Chris Christie issued a travel ban and most schools and businesses decided to shut down Tuesday.
