Hit-And-Run Crash Hospitalizes Driver In Hudson County: Prosecutor

Investigators are searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a pedestrian in Hudson County, they said.

NORTH BERGEN, NJ — Investigators are searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a pedestrian in Hudson County on Wednesday, they said.

Shortly before 5 a.m., the North Bergen Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of 2600 Tonnelle Ave. in North Bergen, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

The victim, a 42-year-old Union City resident, had serious injuries, police said.

The vehicle that hit him left the scene.

The victim was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was in critical but stable condition as of late Wednesday, prosecutors said.

The area is near Route 9 and has several businesses and hotels.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the North Bergen Police Department are investigating.
