Hoboken-Bound Train Slams Into SUV In Bergen County: Photos
A Hoboken-bound NJ Transit train slammed into an SUV in Fair Lawn on Wednesday evening.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A driver walked away on Wednesday evening after his SUV was totaled by a Hoboken-bound train passing through Fair Lawn, police said.
The express NJ Transit train smashed into the Lexus SUV at the Radburn railroad crossing just before 5:30 p.m., NJ Transit police said.
No one was on the train, which was out of service, the agency said.

"Remarkably, the driver escaped serious injuries before being transported to a local hospital by Bergen County EMS for evaluation," Fair Lawn police said.
The Fair lawn police, fire, and EMS responders, along with NJ Transit police, responded to the scene. NJ Transit is leading the investigation, the transit agency said.

The Fair Lawn police said, "We thank all responding agencies for their coordinated efforts and remind drivers to always use caution and remain alert at all railroad crossings."

Service on the Bergen Line was temporarily suspended but resumed later, NJ Transit said.
