If You Love Winter, American Dream Has The Perfect Job For You

Big SNOW, which is North America's first indoor real-snow facility, is looking to fill 300 jobs.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – In advance of its grand opening on Dec. 5, Big SNOW American Dream is looking to hire 300 people to work at the indoor ski and snowboard park at the Meadowlands megamall.

Big SNOW, which is North America’s first indoor real-snow facility, is looking to fill a variety of positions, including retail, guest services, ticket agents, ski instructors, snowboard instructors and lift operators.

What’s the catch? You’ll just have to enjoy being in freezing temperatures year- round. In order to keep optimal snow conditions 365 days a year, the entire facility is kept at a brisk 28-degrees Fahrenheit.

Sound good? Then head to one of two hiring events scheduled at the Hilton Meadowlands, 2 Meadowlands Plaza, East Rutherford. The first is Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a Nov. 10 event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Big SNOW American Dream will offer skiing, snowboarding, introductory lessons, private coaching, children’s programs, snow play, corporate team building and private events within its 180,000-square-foot, 16-story, climate controlled facility.

Other features

  • Four acres of snow-covered slopes, a 160-foot vertical drop, a graduated degree of pitch ranging from 0% at the base to 26% at its steepest and 1,000 feet of length for skiers.
  • Equipment rentals, helmets, winter outerwear (pants and jackets), slope access tickets and a complimentary introductory lesson are available to guests for $49.99 plus tax per person. For those who already own their own gear, slope access tickets for those ages 7 and up is $34.99 for two hours or $49.99 for four hours. Tickets purchased online will be available at a reduced rate.
  • Big SNOW will be launching an expanded website prior to opening with additional operating details including detailed pricing, deals, daily hours of operation and advanced booking. In the meantime, guests can stay tuned for updates by following Big SNOW on Facebook and Instagram@bigsnowad.

The unprecedented access to year-round snow combined with the center’s unrivaled location and the overall appeal of American Dream will allow us to provide opportunities never before seen, and to move the needle on growing the sports in a big way. Our goal is to introduce more than a quarter million new skiers and snowboarders to the sports in the next year. It’s going to be truly amazing.”

The mall's grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 25.

According to American Dream's developer, Triple Five, shopping, dining and attractions at the $5 billion mall will open in four phases.

During American Dream's official debut, Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and The Rink will be open. The DreamWorks Water Park is set to open Nov. 27, followed by Big SNOW, the country's only indoor real-snow park, on Dec. 5. By March 2020, the mall's 350 retail stores will be open for business, Triple Five said.

American Dream's more than 100 dining destinations – which include three food halls, a food court and nearly two dozen full-serve restaurants – will also open next spring, the developer said. Additionally, SEA LIFE Aquarium, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, CMX Luxury Movie Theater, Kidzania and the mall's Observation Wheel will be open by March.

Between 30 and 40 million people are expected to visit American Dream within its first year of opening.
