Rony's Rock Burger Just Hanging On in Tough Economy
Rony Alvarado is hoping to keep the doors open in 2013, but needs more customers.

Rony Alvarado survived 2012. With the winter quickly becoming a distant memory, he's just hoping to drum up enough business to stick it out in 2013.
"We're trying to bring business to this town, we all make specials and do what we can do," Alvarado, owner of Ronny's Rock Burger, said of small businesses in Glen Rock. "Hopefully people show up."
The same issues that were problematic in 2012 remain a thorn in Alvarado's side in 2013. His rent is high and business, particularly from within Glen Rock, remains slow.

"I'm not making money yet, just holding on as best I can," he said. "It's been slow but it's picking up now. The winter is usually slower and the weather is good with summer coming up. We'll see what happens."
Alvarado is introducing new menu items and continuing to offer competitive specials to entice customers. Parents who stop by on weekends with their kids get a free meal.
