JFK's Granddaughter, Local News Reporter?

Tatiana Schlossberg appears to "try out" for reporting job at The Record

Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy, could be close to joining the reporting staff of The Record after a trio of articles with her byline appeared on the paper's website in mid-June.

The three stories appeared with Schlossberg's name over "Special To The Record," a byline designation the Woodland Park paper often uses for journalists "trying out" for a reporting job.

Schlossberg, 22, is the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and prominent designer Edwin Arthur Schlossberg. She is a recent graduate of Yale University, where she wrote for The Yale Herald. Her byline has also appeared in The Martha's Vineyard Gazette.

The first two articles appeard on June 17. One was about married North Jersey ministers and the other about a Ramsey couple who discovered a message in a bottle.

The third piece, about the cliffs of the Palisades -- written in the wake of the death of a Fort Lee student -- ran the following day.

Jennifer Borg, North Jersey Media Group's vice president, did not respond to requests for comment Wednesday.

Schlossberg is the middle child of Caroline Kennedy's three children.

Her brother Jack, 19, attends Yale and also writes for The Yale Herald. Sister Rose Schlossberg, 24, graduated from Harvard and is an artist and videographer.

While at Yale, Schlossberg was a recipient of the Charles A. Ryskamp Travel Grant award. According to the university, her research project "explored the communities that grew out of the relationship between runaway slaves and coastal New England Native American tribes, particularly on Martha's Vineyard in the nineteenth century."
