Josh Noshes At New Bergen County Dessert Shop
Rep. Josh Gottheimer supported a local growing business in Bergen County by serving up ice cream last week.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — For those who complain that the media never publishes good news, here's a story about ice cream — and an expanding chain in North Jersey.
This week, Rep. Josh Gottheimer, rumored to be a contender for New Jersey governor, ducked behind the counter of Maroons Creamery in Ridgewood, a growing group of ice cream parlors in North Jersey.
The Ridgewood location opened in February.

They were followed closely by another shop in Hoboken that month.
The visit was part of his “Josh on the Job” series promoting local businesses in North Jersey, his office said.

“I want to thank Vidhi and Minesh for having me at the new Maroons Creamery," Gottheimer said. "They make their ice cream fresh right at their store. Small businesses like Maroons, who do so much to give back to our community, are what make North Jersey an incredible place to live, work, and do business...I want to do everything I can to help them grow, thrive, and create even more jobs."
He said, "In Congress, I’ll continue working hard to stand up for our small businesses and unlock new opportunities for everyday entrepreneurs.”
He served ice cream to local residents and also law enforcement officers, in honor of their service.
But what's Gottheimer's favorite flavor?
Patch has asked, and is waiting to add his answer.
In the meantime, you can celebrate new businesses with ice cream on Labor Day weekend. Read more about Maroons here.
The Ridgewood location is at 57 East Ridgewood Ave. In Hoboken they're at 1122 Washington St.
