Kitty Rescued On GWB Will Be Up For Adoption, Port Authority Says

FORT LEE, NJ - A kitten that was rescued from traffic on the George Washington Bridge by a Good Samaritan on Monday will be up for adoption at the Bergen County Animal Shelter, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

On Monday afternoon, the cat was scooped up by a driver, who turned it over to Port Authority police, according to the agency.

Officers named the kitten "Highway" and arranged for him to be brought to the county shelter in Teterboro, where he'll soon be available for adoption, the Port Authority said.

Additional information on Highway and how he is doing was not immediately available from the county animal shelter early Tuesday evening.
