Driver Charged For 'Aggressive' Behavior Toward Crossing Guard: Glen Rock Cops

Glen Rock police charged a man with reckless driving after an incident in which he was "aggressive" toward a crossing guard, they said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — After searching for someone who "became aggressive" with a school crossing guard in Glen Rock last month, police have charged a local resident with reckless driving, they said Monday.

The Glen Rock police said detectives were "able to review surveillance video footage from the area where an irate motorist became aggressive with the crossing guard at Maple Avenue and Rock Road, almost striking him with his vehicle."

Police said that they identified the driver involved has been identified as Daniel Miller, 70, of Glen Rock.

This past Tuesday, Sgt. Scott McGovern, who works in traffic safety, issued Miller the following motor vehicle summonses as a result of the incident, according to police:

  • Failure to stop for pedestrian in the crosswalk
  • Reckless driving
  • Failure to obey school crossing guard
  • Misuse of horn/warning device

The corner is a short walk from Central School, an elementary school.
