Man Dies In Mobile Home Fire In Bergen County

Bergen County's arson squad is investigating after a man died in a trailer fire on Monday afternoon, an official said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A mobile home fire claimed a man’s life Monday afternoon, according to Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

First responders headed to West Sixth Street in Moonachie around 4:45 p.m. on Monday to fight the blaze, said Angermeyer.

The Moonachie Police Department and the Moonachie Fire Department found a man inside the home, Angermeyer said. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the fire, Angermeyer said.

Detectives and Arson investigators from the Prosecutor's Office responded to the scene and are investigating, said Angermeyer.

The Moonachie First Aid And Rescue Squad said in a Facebook post on Tueesday that they treated a person from a neighboring trailer who was then sent to Hackensack Medical Center for further treatment.
