Man Sexually Assaulted Bergen County Child Under 13: Prosecutor

A Pennsylvania man was charged for sexually assaulting a child under 13 in Bergen County, prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Pennsylvania man was charged on Friday for sexually assaulting a child under 13 in Bergen County, prosecutors said.

Andrew Wolke, 53, of Easton, Pa. was charged with aggravated sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Monday.

Prosecutors said that on Nov. 26 of last year, the Haworth Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged incident of sexual assault that had occurred in the past.

An investigation determined that Wolke had sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 in April of 2023 in Haworth.

This past Friday, Wolke was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, and with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Wolke was already incarcerated in Northampton County Prison in Easton for an unrelated criminal matter, prosecutors said. He was served with the charges related to the new case.

He'll remain in custody, awaiting extradition to Bergen County, prosecutors said.
