Man Sexually Assaulted Child On Multiple Occasions, Bergen County Prosecutors Say
A Bergen County man was charged with 4 counts of sexual assault, said prosecutors.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Hackensack man was charged Thursday with sexually assaulting a child, prosecutors said Friday.
Jorge E. Mejia, 46, of Hackensack was charged with four counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, said Bergen County prosecutors.
Prosecutors said that on Thursday, the Garfield Police Department contacted the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred earlier that day.

An investigation determined that Mejia had sexually assaulted and endangered the juvenile in Garfield and Hackensack on multiple occasions starting in July.
Mejia was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
