Motorcyclist From Ridgewood Dies In Crash On Bergen County Highway

A motorcyclist from Ridgewood died on a highway in East Rutherford this past weekend, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A motorcyclist from Ridgewood died on a Bergen County highway this past weekend, police said.

The 69-year-old man, whom police have not yet identified, was thrown from the bike around 2 p.m. on Saturday while traveling north on 120, said East Rutherford Police Captain Jeff Yannacone.

Investigators determined that his 2024 Royal Enfield Super Meteor motorcycle struck the curb while trying to negotiate it. He was thrown forward and struck a guardrail, police said.

He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center and was pronounced dead there, Yannacone confirmed.
