New Ice Cream Shop, Maroons Creamery, Opens In Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A new group of ice cream stores has opened a shop in Ridgewood, the owners announced in social media posts this week.

"We’re officially open in Ridgewood!" posted the owners of Maroons Creamery on Monday. "Head to 57 East Ridgewood Avenue to treat yourself."

The shop specializes in sundaes with a wealth of toppings.

"Get ready for bubble waffle cones, sundaes that reach for the door, and ice cream that perfect treat at the end of a long day ‘cause Maroons is openin’ near you!" they posted on Facebook at the end of 2023.

A separate Maroons shop has inched closer to opening in Hoboken, in a spot that originally was to be a Surreal Creamery.

Last year, Maroons Creamery placed signage on the former location of PromptMD at 1122 Washington St. in Hoboken But earlier that year, a display in the same window indicated that Surreal Creamery, a popular ice cream and tea restaurant with locations in New York City, Westfield, and New Brunswick, was coming to the site.

They haven't answered Patch's questions so far, but last year, they made a statement: "Welcome to Maroons Creamery, where ice cream dreams come true. We're the ice cream mad scientists who love turning simple ingredients into extraordinary flavors, textures, and experiences that will leave your taste buds doing a happy dance."
