New Yorker Magazine Details Clementi Tragedy

In the latest issue of The New Yorker Magazine, Staff Writer Ian Parker has penned perhaps the most comprehensive account of the Tyler Clementi saga, detailing blow-by-blow the events up to the .
The 14-page article features interviews with friends of , and also publishes a wealth of conversations both Clementi and Ravi had since prior to and during the start of their freshmen year.
The article, titled "The Story of Suicide: Two college roommates, a webcam, and a tragedy," states Clementi before attending college wrote online: "I feel very defeated by HS and hated the whole thing.”
Parker writes a former classmate of Clementi's described the village as a "world of hyperambitious parents and a line of Lexuses in the school parking lot. She noted the economic difference between the east and west sides of town ... At school, 'west siders are more popular—they know how to get connections,' the former classmate said. 'The west side dresses differently.'”
