NJ Man Filled Out Ballots In Other Person's Name, Bergen County Prosecutor Says
A Bergen County man was charged Tuesday with attempting to cast an illegal vote, and related offenses.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County man has been charged for filling out four voter forms with someone else's name between 2020 and 2024, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Bruce E. Behringer of Park Ridge was charged with tampering with public records, false registration, and attempting to cast an illegal vote, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.
Prosecutors said that on March 4, 2025, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit received information from the Bergen County Board of Elections regarding alleged voting offenses by a Bergen County resident.

An investigation determined that between September 2020 and November 2024, Behringer falsely completed a New Jersey voter registration application and three mail-in voter ballots in the name of another person, prosecutors said.
On Tuesday, he was arrested and charged with the crimes.

He was released to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
